About Myself

Thanks you so much for visiting us.
I am actually a Canadian who has been living in Colorado for over 20 years.
My first introduction to the bulldog was when my late husband told me that he had grown up with a bulldog and had always wanted
to get one when he grew up. He had found a bulldog he wanted to buy and while it was not a show quality bulldog, he taught me to love the fabulous bulldog personality.
I always had a competitive nature, and so it was just a short time before I began researching the bulldog to find a show quality dog
that I could show.
I bought Boulder Benedictine, affectionately known as "Benny". Benny and I, with the coaching of the breeder entered the
show ring when he turned 6 months old. Benny took best of
winners and best of breed, and earned his CH by the time he
reached 11 (eleven) months old. I also showed him in
obedience with scores as high as 197. I just loved him and got hooked on showing as well.

When my husband passed away in 1985, I stopped showing and had
no interest in looking for another bulldog. Yeah right!
Like any person who once owns a bulldog would ever get them out
of their system. I was a professional horse trainer at the time and consequently, very aware of the importance of purchasing
good quality animal.
In 2002, I decided I really wanted to get another bulldog and to
get back into showing. The research started again and lasted
over a year. I could not imagine buying a dog thru the internet
connections... but with todays technology I could see that it was a gamble.
I was going to take. I had met and communicated for a long
time with Birgit Weder of Braveheart Bulldogs in Germany. Birgit was a bulldog breeder, a judge, and health inspector.
It was pretty obvious from my contacts with many other breeders that her reputation was one who had earned a lot of respective
and admiration.
Birgit granted me first choice of a litter and I purchased Braveheart Edition Of Pride. I began to work with Pride, and Birgit decided that in order to keep my interest in showing, she would send me one of her top show dogs "CH Kurnosoe Chudo Go For Win"
(affectionately known as Klitschko. She said he knew what to do and I would have some fun showing him while bringing Pride along. He was already a champion in three countries (Greece, Poland and Austria) and had also won the title of International Champion. She said that in April, she would send her son Sascha who at that time handled all of their dogs, with Klitschko to make sure he was ok with being with me and I would send him back to them in October of 2004. They were scheduled to fly to Denver in April of 2004. In February of 2004, when Klitschko and Tabitha (one of their top females) were stolen.
After the third day of them being gone and as Birgit said "no more tears left in her eyes", they got a call from someone who had seen Klitschko and Tabitha on the net to be sold. It was fortunate that so many people knew Klitschko or he might have gone unoticed. This lady called the advertisers of the dogs and pretended she was interested in buying them. When they went, the police went as well.......... and to make a long story short, the dogs were found on chains between the floors and had no food or drink for three days.
Klitschko must have been beaten to make him go with them, as he would not even look up to them.
Well, needless to say, you can imagine my shock when Birgit said she was still planning on sending Klitschko to me in April. He arrived and he was one of the saddest bulldogs I had ever met. He would just look up on me then drop his eyes back down to the floor. My heart just went out to him and I was determined if nothing else, I would show this dog so much love that he would regain his bulldog spirit and be happy again. I got him out to shows and while he was always pulled out... he lacked the "bulldog happy attitude" it took to do well. Every now and then you could see signs of it.. and that was when he placed Best of Winners and even Best of Breed three times.
Klitschko is definately back to himself and even very puppy like now. I don't think you can find a happier and more responsive bulldog than him now. I just love him!
He thinks everyone that comes up to him now is there to play with and love on him. Soooooooooo, in August of 2004, when Birgit watched Klitschko on the webcam (which their whole family often did), she decided that they loved this dog too much to have him come home and be unhappy. They said they could see how much he loved and trusted me. I guess they could also see how much I loved him. They informed me that he would be a birthday present to me. I am still in shock at their decision to do this.
Since then, I also purchased "Braveheart Gift From Heaven" and "Claire´s Masquie" who will be bred to Klitschko when the time is right. Gifti will be bred to him in June of 2005 and I can't wait to see his litter. Klischko's semen is available to Birgit and I understand one of her newly acquired females will be bred to him when she is old enough. I know this was such a long story, but just wanted you to know just how much these dogs mean to me. I plan to show all three dogs (Edition Of Pride was given to my son in Canada and may also be bred to Klitschko within the next year) in 2005. Regardless of how they do, I think they are tops.... especially my boy Klitschko, who has no need to prove himself to anyone, especially not me!

Please take the time to view the Male section and meet Klitschko (CH Kurnose Chudo Go For Win), and review his extensive and successful show record. I look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions, and again, thank you for visiting the Big Heart site.
